Server Attack: This
evening someone that uses the same ISP as I do, decided to get a port
scanner and scan for open ports, he found port 80 on my machine open, as
I run a web server whenever I'm on line. Anyways this individual
proceeded to try and attack my machine through port 80. Although the
web server did a very good job of deflecting his attacks I still
stepped up the security of my system. You can never have too much
protection..... unless of course you try to run two firewalls.
A Bit of Humor: A guy and a gal meet at a bar. they got along so well that they decide to go to the girl's place. A few drinks later, the guy takes off his shirt and washes his hands. He then takes off his trousers and washes his hands again. The girl has been watching him and says, "You must be a dentist." The guy, surprised, says "Yes... how did you figure that out?' "Easy," she replied, "you keep washing your hands. One thing led to another and they made love. After they were done, the girl says, "you must be a really good dentist." The guy, now with a boosted ego and a smug smile says, "Well yes, I am a good dentist. How did you figure that out?" She replies: "Didn't feel a thing!"
April 13, 2007: Ever wondered how to change your systems OEM logo / image? Simple Get OEM Logo Stamper. It's a pretty nifty piece of software. For more information on it visit the ZemSoft home page and read the article on the Tech Advice page. Don't know what your OEM logo is? More info on the Tech Advice page tomorrow. April 12, 2007: Ahh after a long relaxing holiday it's time to get back to school, see the faces of those caring teachers... yea right. Had I not been so interested in electronics I wouldn't be goin' anywhere. The upside? I get to hang with ma pals at lunch play dominoes and talk crap..... lets face it even the most intelligent people talk crap at some point or another. Lastnight I picked up a CSS menu creation tool [already mastered the JS one] and decided to redo the site, face it it need a face lift :) Learned a few new html tricks that I applied to the new site, the entire site layout uses tables. Erm... wutelse? Oh yea I'm blasting music as usual.
